Humanity's Dangerous Overstep: Crossing Six Planetary Boundaries

A new study warns that six out of nine planetary boundaries, which ensure the Earth is a safe operating space for humanity, have been breached. The boundaries for climate change, land use, freshwater change, biogeochemical flows, novel entities (synthetic pollution), and biosphere integrity have all been crossed, while atmospheric aerosol loading and ocean acidification are close to being breached.
