"Beaver Moon: A Spectacular Lunar Display to Illuminate the Night Sky"

The "Beaver Moon," November's full moon, will be visible on Sunday night and reach peak illumination on Monday morning. It is named after the time when beavers start sheltering in their lodges and historically when they would be trapped for fur trade. Other names for this full moon include the Digging Moon, Frost Moon, Freezing Moon, Deer Rutting Moon, and Whitefish Moon. Astronomy enthusiasts can also watch for the Geminids meteor shower, which will continue until December 24.
