"ESA Harnesses Green Hydrogen for Ariane 6 and Beyond"

Europe's Spaceport in French Guiana is working on a sustainable production facility called Hyguane to create green hydrogen fuel for Ariane 6, the heavy-lift rocket. The project aims to switch from carbon-intensive methods to solar-powered electrolysis of water, reducing carbon dioxide emissions. The facility could save over 3000 tonnes of equivalent carbon dioxide emissions annually and supply up to 12% of Ariane 6's hydrogen needs. Additionally, the project will support low-carbon transport in French Guiana and contribute to the goal of making 90% of Europe's Spaceport run on renewable energy by 2030.
