Mysterious 'Spider' Shapes Found in Mars Crater by NASA

NASA's Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter captured a captivating view of "spider-like" formations in a crater on Mars. These formations, known as araneiform terrain, are created by the sublimation of ice below the surface. The HiRise camera, operated by a team at the University of Arizona, snapped the image in May 2022. The image also showcases geometric polygon shapes that resemble dried mud. Scientists study these formations to understand climate conditions and the distribution of ice on Mars.
