NASA has released a stunning composite image resembling a snow globe or twinkling Christmas lights, featuring the billion-star-containing UGC 8091 dwarf galaxy located in the Virgo constellation, 7 million light-years away. The image was created using data captured by the Hubble Space Telescope's cameras between 2006 and 2021, showcasing interstellar hydrogen molecules as red patches and older stars as sparkles. The background also reveals distant galaxies. This festive image follows other Christmas-themed space images, including the Christmas Tree Galaxy Cluster and the supernova remnant Cassiopeia A.
