Boeing's Progress on SLS Core Stage Assembly at KSC

Boeing is nearing completion of final assembly for NASA's second Space Launch System (SLS) core stage at the Michoud Assembly Facility (MAF) in New Orleans, with plans to shift future builds to the Kennedy Space Center (KSC) in Florida. The core stage for Artemis II is in its final testing phase, while production continues for the core stages of Artemis III and Artemis IV. Boeing aims to have its new facilities in the Vehicle Assembly Building (VAB) at KSC ready by the end of 2024 for final assembly. Issues with completing the liquid oxygen (LOX) tank structure have caused delays, but the company is working on corrective actions.
