Scientists Observe First 'Switchback' Phenomenon in Earth's Magnetosphere

Scientists have for the first time detected a zigzag-like 'switchback' phenomenon in Earth's magnetosphere, a plasma structure associated with magnetic reconnection events that can influence space weather and potentially disrupt Earth's technological systems.
