Brian May, the legendary lead guitarist of Queen and astrophysicist, has been credited with helping to map the asteroid Bennu as part of NASA's OSIRIS-REx mission. May collaborated with scientists to create realistic 3D images of Bennu, which aided in finding a safe landing site for the probe collecting the asteroid sample. The capsule carrying the sample is set to land in the Utah desert on September 24. This is not May's first involvement with NASA, as he previously worked on the New Horizons mission to Pluto and created the first high-quality stereo image of the planet.
