"Pisgah Astronomical Research Institute Celebrates 60 Years of Cosmic Exploration with Open House"

The Pisgah Astronomical Research Institute (PARI) celebrated 60 years since NASA began observing the cosmos at their location in Transylvania County with an open house event. In addition to museum galleries and planetarium shows, PARI offered hands-on experiences for visitors, including the opportunity to hold a piece of the moon. The institute prioritizes education and provides students with access to scientific instruments and a research process, aiming to showcase the various roles involved in space science. PARI also offers educational programs through partnerships with schools and summer camps.
