"NASA Seeks Volunteers for Year-Long Mars Simulation Mission"

NASA is recruiting volunteers for its yearlong simulated missions in the Crew Health and Performance Exploration Analog (CHAPEA) program, where participants will live and work inside a 1,700-square-foot Mars habitat to simulate life on the Red Planet. Volunteers will experience a space diet, limited communication with a simulated 22-minute delay, and restricted access to social media. Daily activities include simulated spacewalks, robotic operations, and habitat maintenance, and compensation is available for participants. Applicants must be healthy, nonsmoking U.S. citizens or permanent residents between the ages of 30 and 55 with STEM qualifications or relevant experience, and the deadline to apply is April 2.
