"Unveiling the Cosmic Vine: A Massive Structure Housing 20 Galaxies"

Astronomers have discovered a large-scale structure called the "Cosmic Vine" that hosts at least 20 massive galaxies. This structure, located in the Extended Groth Strip field, spans about 13 million light years and is larger than other compact galaxy groups. The two most massive galaxies within the Cosmic Vine, Galaxy A and Galaxy E, are quiescent and exhibit bulge-dominated morphologies. The findings suggest that the Cosmic Vine is on its way to forming a galaxy cluster and provide insights into the formation and evolution of massive quiescent galaxies in large-scale structures. Further investigation of quiescent cluster galaxies at high redshifts could enhance our understanding of the universe's largest structures.
