"Florida Scientist Sets World Record for Living Underwater"

Joe Dituri, a biomedical engineer and US Navy veteran, has broken the world record for the longest time spent living underwater by spending 73 days in Jules’ Undersea Lodge in Key Largo, Florida. He plans to spend a total of 100 days underwater to conduct research into how well humans can survive in an isolated, confined environment. Dituri aims to return to the surface on June 9 and undergo an in-depth medical examination. He has been documenting his experience on Instagram and YouTube and plans to take a zero-gravity flight in September as part of his dream to become a civilian astronaut.
