The affected children, aged one to three, showed symptoms such as headache, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, and anemia. The outbreak is linked to recalled pouches of cinnamon apple puree and applesauce marketed to kids. Parents and caregivers are advised not to buy or serve these products, and affected children should be tested for lead levels. Lead exposure can cause serious learning and behavior problems, and the affected states include Alabama, Arkansas, Louisiana, Maryland, Missouri, New Mexico, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, and Washington.
