Bolivian EV startup bets on small car for big success in lithium-rich nation.

Bolivian EV startup, Quantum Motors, hopes to boost e-mobility in the country with its tiny electric car, the Quantum, which moves at no more than 35 mph, can be recharged from a household outlet, and can travel 50 miles before a recharge. The company, which has sold barely 350 cars in Bolivia and an undisclosed number of units in Peru and Paraguay, is the country's sole producer of electric cars and is set to open a factory in Mexico later this year. Bolivia has the world's largest reserve of lithium, a key component in electric batteries, but has yet to extract and industrialize its vast resources of the metal.
