Director James Gunn has commented on Milly Alcock's casting as Supergirl in the forthcoming DCU, praising her "edge, grace & authenticity." Alcock is set to star in her own solo movie, Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow, based on the comic miniseries by Tom King and Bilquis Evely. The film's screenplay is being written by Ana Nogueira, and no director is attached at this time. While rumors suggest Alcock's Supergirl might debut in 2025's Superman: Legacy, this has not been confirmed. Gunn and Peter Safran's DCU will kick off with an animated Creature Commandos series, followed by Superman: Legacy in 2025, and Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow does not yet have a release date.
