Foreign Service Officer fatally shot after Beltway stabbing spree
A U.S. State Department foreign service officer was killed and three other women were seriously injured after a road-rage stabbing on the Capital Beltway (I-495). A Virginia state trooper shot and killed the knife-wielding suspect in self-defense; authorities say the victims didn’t know him and the attack is not considered terrorism-related. The incident followed a crash near exit 52, and the investigation is ongoing.
