"Montana Tops US with Highest COVID Hospitalization Rate, Colorado Sees Steady Rise"

COVID-19 hospitalizations have declined in most parts of the U.S., but some counties are still reporting high admission rates, with hospital admissions rising by over 1,000 percent in certain areas. The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) data shows that while hospital admissions have more than doubled since the spring and early summer, they are still significantly lower compared to last October. Most U.S. counties have low rates of hospitalization, but at least 33 counties have reported high rates of admissions. The highest admissions rates were reported in Weston County, Wyoming, and some counties in Texas and Mississippi have seen steep increases. Only Montana is considered to have medium rates of COVID-19 hospitalizations at the state level. The CDC recommends wearing high-quality masks and avoiding non-essential indoor activities in areas with high admission rates.
