Israeli Ambassador Describes Hamas Attack as Israel's 9/11

Israeli Ambassador to the U.N. Gilad Erdan compared Hamas's attack on Israel to the 9/11 tragedy, calling it "truly unprecedented" and condemning the killing of civilians. Israeli officials estimate at least 250 deaths and 1,500 casualties, while Palestinian authorities report at least 232 fatalities and 1,700 injuries. Erdan emphasized the proportionality of the casualties to the United States, stating that it is "like having here, 7,500 fatalities" and "like 50,000 casualties here in the United States." He vowed to change the equation and ensure that such atrocities cannot be committed against Israeli civilians again.
