Multiple Cantaloupe Recalls in US and Canada over Salmonella Contamination Concerns
Trufresh, operating as Sofia Produce, is recalling all sizes of fresh cantaloupes sold in multiple U.S. states and Canada due to potential salmonella contamination. The cantaloupes, distributed between October 16 and October 23, were packaged with the "Malichita" label and may have reached stores in other states as well. The FDA warns that salmonella can cause serious infections, especially in vulnerable individuals, and advises consumers to discard or return the recalled cantaloupes. No illnesses have been reported so far. This recall follows a similar one in Canada.
