Polaris has unveiled the 2024 Ranger XD 1500, their toughest and most capable utility vehicle yet. With a high-strength steel monocoque chassis, upgraded transmission, and a powerful 1,500cc three-cylinder engine, it boasts a towing capacity of 3,500 pounds and a cargo box capacity of 1,500 pounds. The Ranger XD 1500 also offers luxurious features such as a spacious interior, adjustable steering wheel, optional heated seats, heating and air conditioning, and a touchscreen with a backup camera. Chevy's Silverado EV work truck boasts a huge 200+kWh battery and a 450+ mile range, making it a standout in the electric pickup truck market. However, the weight of the battery, at 8500 lbs, affects the handling and makes it more expensive. The Silverado EV will be available to fleets in the coming weeks, starting at $77,905 for the 450-mile work truck, and a slightly smaller battery 350+ mile work truck will debut at the end of the year with a $72,905 price tag. The Silverado EV is a compelling work truck that will meet the needs of fleets that no other EV pickup can.
Stellantis expects its fully electric Ram 1500 REV pickup truck to have a range of 500 miles on a single charge and a towing capacity of up to 14,000 pounds, surpassing competitors such as Ford and General Motors. The Ram REV will also have a frunk with more storage space than its competitors. The truck will be powered by two 250 kW electric motors and will go on sale late next year. Stellantis CEO Carlos Tavares has expressed skepticism about fully electric vehicles but said the company will compete in electric propulsion to meet current regulations.
