Disney World has announced the closure of the Muppet*Vision 3D attraction at Disney Hollywood Studios to make way for a new Monsters Inc. themed area, including a coaster inspired by the film. While this marks the end of the beloved Muppets attraction, the Muppets will still have a presence in the park with a new overlay theme for the Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster featuring the Electric Mayhem. The transition is part of Disney's broader plans to update and expand its theme parks.
Central Florida theme parks are set to introduce a host of new attractions in 2024, including "Tiana's Bayou Adventure" at Disney's Magic Kingdom, a refreshed "Country Bears Musical Jamboree," and "The Little Mermaid - A Musical Adventure" at Disney's Hollywood Studios. EPCOT will unveil "CommuniCore Hall and CommuniCore Plaza," and Universal Orlando will launch "Dreamworks Land." SeaWorld Orlando is adding the "Penguin Trek" roller coaster, while Busch Gardens Tampa Bay will debut the "Phoenix Rising" coaster. Legoland Florida Resort will encourage creativity with the "Build and Race" experience, and the SEA LIFE Florida Resort is set to open for marine life exploration.
