Two 15-year-old suspects, Dominique Harris and Jarreth Plunkett, allegedly fatally stabbed Bobby Maher in front of his girlfriend at a mall in Wyoming, following a weeks-long feud and a confrontation during spring break. The suspects had allegedly asked Maher's friend to fight them to "pay" Maher's "blood debt" after an earlier incident. Surveillance footage showed Maher trying to avoid the attackers, who were wearing masks, before being slammed to the ground and repeatedly punched by Harris, and then fatally stabbed by Plunkett. The suspects were charged as adults with conspiracy to commit murder, aggravated assault, battery, and theft, and had their bonds set at $500,000 and $450,000, respectively. The community has rallied in support of Maher's family, organizing a candlelight vigil and sharing tributes in his memory.
