One person has died and at least eight others are in intensive care after an outbreak of botulism linked to the Tchin Tchin Wine Bar in Bordeaux, France. Twelve people have been diagnosed with the potentially fatal illness, most of whom were tourists. An investigation for manslaughter has been opened, and the source of the toxin is believed to be sardines that the restaurateur had canned himself.
