Suffolk Downs transforms into Boston's premier outdoor music destination.

The Bowery Presents is set to open a new outdoor concert venue, The Stage at Suffolk Downs, in Boston on June 16 with a headlining set from Steve Lacy. The venue, which can accommodate 8,500 concertgoers, is part of a 161-acre parcel purchased by the HYM Investment Group, which has long-term plans to build a mixed-use village for as many as 15,000 residents. The Bowery Presents, which operates various-sized venues from Maine to Virginia, is the East Coast regional partner of AEG Live. The Stage at Suffolk Downs is the latest foray in Boston for the company, which owns and operates Roadrunner, the Sinclair, and books Royale.
