Minnesota Commission Chooses New State Flag Design, Addressing Offensiveness and Gaining Online Attention
The State Emblems Redesign Commission in Minnesota has selected the final design, F1953, for the new state flag, which features white, green, and blue stripes and an eight-point star on the left. The commission will make some changes to make it more representative of Minnesota. They have also chosen a new state seal design featuring a loon, with modifications including the removal of the state motto and year of statehood and the addition of a Dakota phrase. The commission will meet again to discuss final design variations for both the state flag and state seal.
