Blue Jays Acquire Gold Glove 2B Andrés Giménez in Multi-Team Trade

The Cleveland Guardians have traded three-time Gold Glove second-baseman Andres Gimenez and relief pitcher Nick Sandlin to the Toronto Blue Jays. In return, Cleveland received first-baseman/second-baseman Spencer Horwitz and minor league outfielder Nick Mitchell. Gimenez, who signed a 7-year, $106.5 million contract extension with Cleveland in 2023, was originally acquired in a trade with the Mets. Sandlin had an 8-0 record with a 3.75 ERA last season. Horwitz batted .265 with 12 home runs for Toronto last season.
