Fans of Jeopardy were outraged after Ben Chan's nine-day winning streak ended due to a spelling mistake in Final Jeopardy. The category was "Shakespeare's Characters," and the clue was about two lovers whose names come from Latin words for "blessed." Chan wrote "Benedict" instead of "Benedick," and although both of his competitors also got the answer wrong, he was ruled incorrect due to the spelling error. Fans took to social media to express their disappointment and called the ruling "harsh." Chan acknowledged his mistake and will have the chance to redeem himself in the 2023 Tournament of Champions.
