"Waymo's Dual Vehicle Collision Prompts Recall and Stock Stumble"
Waymo issued a voluntary recall for the software on its entire fleet of robotaxis after two of its autonomous SUVs made contact with the same tow truck in Phoenix. The collisions, which occurred on Dec. 11, 2023, resulted in minor vehicle damage, and no riders were present in the SUVs at the time. Waymo notified the authorities and initiated a software update to address the issue, completing the update on Jan. 12 and filing a recall report with the NHTSA.
