The Cleveland Browns selected defensive tackle Siaki Ika in the third round of the 2023 NFL draft. Ika, who played for both Baylor and LSU, is a big, strong nose tackle who will fill a long-term need for the Browns. While he is an A+ run defender, he has not shown much pass-rushing ability. However, his size and ability to take on multiple blocks will be vital in Jim Schwartz's wide-9 scheme. The pick received a grade of C+ from the author but an A- from SB Nation.
The Cleveland Browns selected defensive tackle Siaki Ika with the 98th overall pick in the 2023 NFL Draft. Ika, who played for Baylor and LSU, is a massive interior presence at 6-foot-2 and 335 pounds and was a first team All-Big 12 selection last season.
The Cleveland Browns selected Baylor defensive tackle Siaki Ika with the 98th pick in the third round of the 2023 NFL Draft. Ika will compete with Jordan Elliott, Trysten Hill, Maurice Hurst, and others for the starting job opposite Dalvin Tomlinson. At 6-3 and 355 pounds, Ika is a massive interior force with quickness and lateral flow for his size. He has the potential to become an early starter and help improve the Browns' run defense.
In the latest three-round mock draft from Pro Football Focus, the Pittsburgh Steelers address major needs by selecting Maryland cornerback Deonte Banks, Ohio State offensive tackle Dawand Jones, Baylor defensive tackle Siaki Ika, and Houston wide receiver Nathaniel “Tank” Dell. Banks is a prototypical boundary CB with impressive athletic abilities, while Jones is a hulking offensive tackle prospect with good use of hands. Ika is a good projection for the Steelers at nose tackle, and Dell would be a good fit as a slot receiver and backup X receiver.
