The Nationals defeated the Braves 4-1 on Sunday, with the Braves missing a chance for the sweep. Braves pitcher, Shuster, made his MLB debut and allowed four runs on six hits over 4 2/3 innings, but showed resilience and fought back to deny the Nationals any more runs. The Braves struggled to hit against Nationals lefty, Gore, who held them to one run on three hits over 5 1/3 innings. The Braves will face the Cardinals next, with Charlie Morton making his regular-season debut.
