The Buffalo Bills have signed former Denver Broncos first-round pick Shane Ray, who has been out of the NFL for four years. Ray had been taking part in Buffalo's rookie minicamp before signing. In 49 career NFL games, Ray has recorded 94 combined tackles and 14 sacks.

Defensive end Shane Ray, who has been out of the NFL since 2019, has signed with the Buffalo Bills after trying out at the team's rookie minicamp. Ray played four seasons for the Denver Broncos, recording 14 career sacks, 94 tackles, and 33 quarterback hits. He also won Super Bowl 50 with the Broncos. Ray dealt with a left wrist injury and subsequent surgeries beginning in 2017. He played in 2021 and 2022 for the CFL's Toronto Argonauts, recording six sacks last season.

After a tryout at the Bills' rookie minicamp, Ray did enough to earn a contract. He described his journey back to the NFL as an uphill battle, but he's grateful for the opportunity and excited to write a comeback story in 2023.
