IG probe puts Chavez-DeRemer security detail on leave amid romance and travel-allegation claims
An inspector general inquiry at the Labor Department placed a member of Labor Secretary Lori Chavez-DeRemer’s security detail on administrative leave as investigators probe an alleged romantic relationship with the secretary; two senior aides are also on investigative leave as the probe widens, with a complaint alleging Chavez-DeRemer used events for personal travel, and drinking on the job. The White House has defended the secretary, and the department has not commented on personnel matters as the investigation continues.
