China's Sea-Launched Smart Dragon-3 Rocket Lifts Off

China successfully launched its Smart Dragon-3 solid rocket from a floating barge at sea, marking its 10th sea launch. The rocket carried nine satellites, including the NExSat-1 for Egypt and an experimental networking satellite. Developed by China Rocket, the Smart Dragon-3 aims to increase launch frequency and payload capacity, with plans for subsequent mass production. This launch follows China's recent debut of the all-solid Gravity-1 rocket and demonstrates the nation's growing space capabilities.

"China's Galactic Energy Challenges SpaceX with Historic Sea Launch"

Galactic Energy, a private Chinese company founded by former workers of the state-owned China Academy of Launch Vehicle Technology, has successfully carried out the first sea-based rocket launch in China. The launch of the CERES 1 rocket from a modified submersible ship in the Yellow Sea marks the company's ninth consecutive successful orbital launch and makes it the third Chinese rocket model, and the first produced by a private company, capable of launching from both land and sea. While Galactic Energy is making strides in China's commercial launch sector, it still has a long way to catch up to SpaceX, which recently broke its own record for the number of launches in a single year.

China Successfully Launches Ceres-1 Rocket from Sea

Chinese commercial space company Galactic Energy successfully conducted its first sea launch, marking its ninth consecutive successful launch. The Ceres-1 solid rocket lifted off from a mobile sea platform off the coast of Haiyang, carrying four satellites for Guodian Gaoke's Tianqi low-Earth orbit narrow-band Internet of Things constellation. The launch aimed to place the satellites in an 800-kilometer-altitude orbit. Galactic Energy plans to complete its 38-satellite constellation by 2024. The sea launch spaceport in Haiyang has also supported launches by other companies, and its expansion is expected to provide greater launch flexibility and reduce the risk of falling rocket debris.
