A man in Eugene narrowly escaped death when a runaway sawblade impaled itself two feet into the wall of the Quick Trip Market. The incident was caused by a loose bolt and possible operator error, with NW Natural Gas and two other contractors working in the area at the time. The store owner and witnesses were shaken by the close call, and NW Natural Gas removed the responsible contractor from work while reviewing the incident.
