Indonesia's SATRIA-1 satellite launched to improve internet connectivity.

Indonesia's Satria-1 broadband satellite, built by Thales Alenia Space, has deployed its solar panels after launching on a SpaceX Falcon 9 to geosynchronous transfer orbit. It will take about five months to reach its 146 degrees East orbital slot via onboard electric propulsion. Once it reaches its geostationary orbital slot late this year, it will provide around 150 gigabits per second of capacity across the thousands of islands in the Indonesian archipelago and surrounding areas by early 2024. The $545 million satellite is operated by PT Satelit Nusantara Tiga under a public-private partnership with the country's government.

SpaceX's Falcon 9 set to launch Indonesian satellite on Father's Day weekend.

SpaceX is set to launch a Falcon 9 rocket carrying the Satria-1 communications satellite for the Indonesian government from Cape Canaveral Space Force Station's Launch Complex 40. The launch window extends from 6:04 p.m. to 9:02 p.m. EDT, with a 60% chance of "go" weather conditions at the opening of the window. The rocket will fly on an easterly trajectory over the Atlantic Ocean, and the first-stage booster will target a drone ship landing in the Atlantic Ocean about eight minutes after liftoff.

SpaceX successfully launches Indonesian satellite into orbit on Father's Day.

SpaceX is set to launch an Indonesian communications satellite, SATRIA-1, to geosynchronous transfer orbit using a Falcon 9 rocket from Cape Canaveral Space Force Station in Florida. The rocket's first stage will return to Earth for a vertical touchdown on the SpaceX droneship A Shortfall of Gravitas. SATRIA-1 will provide free internet connection to 150,000 public facilities in Indonesia and have a throughput capacity of 150 billion bits per second.
