After more than two decades, Sarah Burton is set to part ways with Alexander McQueen, marking the end of her tenure as the brand's creative director. During her time at the helm, sales for Alexander McQueen soared, reaching €830 million in 2022. The luxury group, Kering, which acquired Alexander McQueen in 2001, reported a 5% decline in sales for its "Other houses" division in the first half of 2023. Burton's departure follows a series of changes within the luxury group, including the departure of Gucci's Alessandro Michele and a management shakeup. A new creative organization for Alexander McQueen will be announced in the future.
