Obsidian's upcoming RPG Avowed will defy the trend of including romantic relationships with companions, as the game director revealed that the studio chose not to include romances in order to focus on ensuring a fulfilling experience for all players. The game, set in the same universe as Pillars of Eternity, will feature lively combat, a classless main character, and large, sprawling levels, with companions integral to the story. Avowed is expected to release in fall 2024.
