Wheeler Yuta cheated to defeat Katsuyori Shibata and win the ROH Pure championship, exploiting Shibata's 2017 brain injury. Shibata collapsed after a match in 2017 and was diagnosed with a subdural hematoma, but has since become the Pure champion. After the match, Yuta offered a handshake but attacked Shibata again, causing him to hold his head in pain, reminiscent of his previous injury.

Former WWE and UFC star Ronda Rousey made surprise appearances at The Wrestling Revolver's REVOLVER Unreal event and Ring of Honor tapings, sparking speculation about her future with ROH and AEW. According to reports, Rousey is currently not signed to either promotion and appeared on a handshake deal. Her appearances are aimed at generating subscriptions for ROH's HonorClub. Rousey has been working independent dates and with ROH to collaborate with Marina Shafir. Despite rumors, Rousey was not the major signing teased by Tony Khan for AEW's Full Gear event. MJF and Adam Cole, known as Better Than You Bay Bay, defeated Aussie Open to become the new Ring of Honor World Tag Team Champions at the AEW All In Zero Hour pre-show. This marks the first ROH World Tag Team title reign for both MJF and Cole individually and as a team, with Cole becoming a triple crown winner in ROH. Aussie Open's reign ends at 37 days.

Wrestling veteran Kenny Bolin revealed that Seth Rollins almost became known as "Jack 'Double Barrel' Cannon" earlier in his career, but the plans were scrapped after he left ROH for WWE. Rollins welcomed the idea because he did not like his Tyler Black gimmick. Samoa Joe and Zack Sabre Jr. teamed up to compete for the title of best TV champion in the business in the main event of ROH TV episode 13. Dante Martin has been released from the hospital after suffering a foot/ankle injury during the Reach for the Sky ladder match for the vacant ROH World Tag Team Championship at ROH Supercard of Honor. He praised AEW CEO Tony Khan and the AEW medical staff for their support. Martin's tag team partner and older brother, Darius, has also suffered injuries in the past.

Katsuyori Shibata defeated Wheeler Yuta to become the new ROH Pure champion at the Supercard of Honor PPV. Shibata dominated the match with his mat work and striking game, ultimately finishing Yuta with a sleeper hold and penalty kick. This is only Shibata's fifth match since a life-threatening brain bleed in 2017, and he could now be on course for dream matches with other members of the ROH and AEW rosters.
