Cervélo has introduced the Rouvida, its first eBike that can quickly switch between road and gravel configurations. The interchangeable dropouts allow for changes in fit and handling, with different geometry for each setup. The Rouvida features the Fazua Ride 60 motor, which blends seamlessly with pedaling input. It also includes Cervélo's aerodynamic design and a vertical battery orientation for improved aerodynamics. The eBike offers easy power and assistance control, as well as extra battery life for charging accessories. The Rouvida is available in four different build options, with prices ranging from $6,200 to $13,000.
Several riders, including Lilian Calmejane, Mads Pedersen, and Luke Durbridge, suffered punctures during stage 2 of the Tour de France due to tacks intentionally thrown onto the road. Calmejane expressed frustration on Twitter, highlighting the danger posed by such actions. This is not the first time tacks or nails have been thrown onto the Tour route, with previous incidents occurring in past editions of the race.
An all-Croat team of archaeologists discovered a 7,000-year-old road of stacked stone under the sea mud at the submerged Neolithic site of Soline, connecting an artificial island associated with the Hvar Culture to the coast of the island of Korcula. The road was four meters broad and was made around 1,000 years before the oldest known constructed road in Ur, part of ancient Sumeria. The discovery rewrites the history of civilization and highlights the ancient past of Korcula, which is already one of Croatia's top tourist destinations.
A pothole in the road grew to double its size after two cars plowed over it. The third car stopped in its tracks and crossed into the other lane to go around it. The next car paid no heed and tried to roll over it, only to have its tire drop into the dark abyss. The incident was captured on video and posted on social media.
KFOX14 reached out to the El Paso police department to ask how they plan to address the issue of migrants sleeping in the road. The police department stated that they are aware of the situation and are working with other agencies to find a solution.
