"7000-Year-Old Stone Road Discovered Underwater in Croatia"

An all-Croat team of archaeologists discovered a 7,000-year-old road of stacked stone under the sea mud at the submerged Neolithic site of Soline, connecting an artificial island associated with the Hvar Culture to the coast of the island of Korcula. The road was four meters broad and was made around 1,000 years before the oldest known constructed road in Ur, part of ancient Sumeria. The discovery rewrites the history of civilization and highlights the ancient past of Korcula, which is already one of Croatia's top tourist destinations.
