"NASA's Mars Rover Explores Marsmas Sea with Rocker-Bogie Technology"

NASA's Mars rover Curiosity experienced a mobility fault on Sol 4040, causing its right-middle wheel to be completely off the ground. Despite this, the rover's rocker-bogie wheel suspension system allows it to maneuver and continue its mission. While unable to use its arm instruments, Curiosity conducted remote science activities, including capturing high-resolution frames for future planning and conducting ChemCam operations. The rover's environmental team also planned a dust devil movie. The focus on remote science means less data from APXS and MAHLI instruments in the short term. The team aims to resolve the mobility fault and resume normal operations soon.

"NASA's Mars Exploration: A Weekend on Mars, Sols 3943-3945"

NASA's Mars rover Curiosity will be conducting contact science on the first sol, followed by a drive on the second sol, and remote science on the third sol. The rover will be examining two bedrock targets, Hydra and Dodoni, while documenting the upper Gediz Vallis Ridge and other nearby features using various instruments. Curiosity will also capture dust devil surveys, cloud movies, and characterize atmospheric opacity during its weekend activities on Mars.
