Israeli troops killed senior Hamas leader Ra'ad Thabet in the maternity ward of Al-Shifa Hospital in Gaza as he attempted to escape, with the IDF stating that he was responsible for research and development and was a key figure in Hamas' production unit. The IDF also revealed that there were 1,250 people inside the hospital during the siege, with 513 identified as terrorists from Hamas and Islamic Jihad. The military operation is ongoing, with the IDF claiming that Hamas is destroying the hospital and that there are more senior operatives and terrorists still inside.
