"New Insights into Genetic and Cellular Roots of Brain Disorders"
NIH-funded researchers have created the most advanced maps of gene regulation networks in the human brain, using postmortem tissue from over 2,500 donors. These maps reveal how genetic risk factors contribute to mental disorders like schizophrenia and depression, and identify potential targets for new treatments. The findings, published in 15 papers, offer new tools and methods for analyzing brain data and understanding the regulatory elements that impact brain function and dysfunction.
