Riddhi Patel, a pro-Palestine protestor, made their first court appearance after threatening to "murder" Bakersfield City council members during a meeting discussing a Gaza ceasefire resolution. Patel, 28, pleaded not guilty to 16 felony charges related to threatening with intent to terrorize and threatening city council staff, and remains in jail on a $1 million bond. The next court dates are scheduled for April 16, 24, and 25.
