Pro-Palestinian Protests and Arrests at Art Basel Miami Beach

Two people were arrested during a pro-Palestine protest at the Miami Beach Convention Center, where the annual Art Basel Miami Beach fair was taking place. The arrests were made after a teenage boy shouted obscenities at police officers and pushed one of them, while another protester impeded the arrest. The protest, organized by The South Florida Coalition for Palestine, called for "Palestine Liberation" and was held near City Hall. The phrase "From The River To The Sea!" used by the protesters was criticized by Miami Beach Commissioner David Suarez, who claimed it referred to the destruction of Israel. The protest coincided with ongoing urban fighting in Gaza and the United States vetoed a UN resolution for an immediate humanitarian cease-fire in the region.
