iOS 26.3 Debuts Privacy Setting to Mask Carrier Location to Neighborhood-Level

Apple’s iOS 26.3 adds a “Limit Precise Location” option that restricts how precisely mobile networks can determine your location, reducing data to the neighborhood level for devices with Apple’s C1/C1X modems. Supported carriers include Boost Mobile (US), EE/BT (UK), Telekom (Germany), and AIS/True (Thailand); the feature requires iOS 26.3/iPadOS 26.3 on compatible devices and a restart after changing settings. It does not affect emergency location data or location data shared with apps via Location Services, and the update is currently in beta with a public release coming soon.
