NASA's Voyager 2 Mission Extended with New Power Hack
NASA has implemented a power hack that will allow all five scientific instruments aboard Voyager 2 to stay active until 2026, extending the mission even longer. The hack involves redirecting a small amount of power meant for an onboard safety system, which protects the probe from voltage irregularities. While there is a modicum of risk involved, NASA says the probe can keep its science instruments turned on for a while longer.
