Wildfires and Northerly Winds: Impact on Bay Area Air Quality
Northerly winds sweeping into the North Bay have caused poor air quality and raised concerns about fire risk. Smoke from Northern California wildfires has spread into Sonoma County and the Bay Area. Power outages are planned for 4,200 customers across eight counties and two tribal communities. The Bay Area Air Quality Management District has issued an air quality advisory, urging people to stay indoors and close windows and doors. The National Weather Service has not issued a red flag warning but has placed portions of Napa and Lake counties and higher inland areas in Sonoma County on "fire weather watch."
