Myanmar Junta Leader Urges Political Resolution for Armed Organizations
Myanmar's junta leader, General Min Aung Hlaing, has urged armed ethnic groups involved in an offensive against the ruling military to seek political solutions to their problems, according to state media. The military, which seized power in a coup earlier this year, is facing a significant challenge from ethnic minority forces. However, a parallel civilian government supporting some of the rebel groups dismissed the call for dialogue, insisting that the military must relinquish its political role before genuine discussions can take place. The ongoing conflict has resulted in the displacement of tens of thousands of residents.
