Amazon Removes Venmo as Payment Option, PayPal Shares Slide
Amazon is discontinuing the use of PayPal's Venmo payment service for purchases on its platform, just over a year after introducing the option. Venmo can no longer be added as a payment method in Amazon wallets, and existing users will no longer be able to use it after January 10. The decision comes as PayPal and Amazon's partnership failed to gain traction, with consumers not adopting Venmo as their preferred checkout method. PayPal shares slipped 1.8% following the news.
